This work for two pianos and percussion was written in 2009.  Its first movement is dedicated to George Crumb, on the occasion of his 80th birthday.  Movement two is dedicated to James Freeman, the founding director of Orchestra 2001, on his 70th birthday.  The first performance took place at Swarthmore College, with Freeman and Marcantonio Barone, pianists, and Anthony Orlando, percussion.

The Moscow performance will be by pianists Mona Khaba & Natalie Cherkassova, with percussionist Andrey Vinnickiy.

PAIDEIA (abstract opera #2) by ANDREW RUDIN, a work for film and Moog Sythesizer score from 1967.  Both film and music by Rudin.  The program is comprised of a selection of short abstract films which all involve electronic music soundtracks, including several rarities and two world premieres.

There will be the first screening in over 50 years of the rediscovered FC Judd 8mm cine footage of his Chromasonics invention, plus the first UK screening of one of the earliest films to feature a Moog synthesizer score; both the film and music created by US composer Andrew Rudin in 1967. There'll be two new Ian Helliwell video feedback films with Hellitron generated soundtracks, plus several more archive shorts that push abstraction and electronic sounds into the realm of psychedelic experience
