Il Giuoco (excerpt 1)

Said by Robert Moog to be the first large-scale, original, serious composition created on his synthesizing instruments, Il Giuoco (abstract opera #1) 1966 is accompanied by a film (made by the composer). This "prelude", heard in the darkened theatre before the film begins, mixes the altered voice of Dian Reed with the synthesized sounds. During the course of the piece, the image of a dancer appears with increasing frequency (the final image of the film is on the Photo Gallery page) while the vocal sounds are heard less and less.
